AUTOMATION CONTROL ENGINEER

FUNCTIONS:

​

  • Participate in design, development and implementation of Allen-Bradley based automation control systems. 

  • Use Allen-Bradley 1756, 1768, 1769, 1734 platforms. 

  • Analyze and debug existing automation control systems. 

  • Migration and conversion of modern or aging automation control systems. 

  • Program complex manufacturing problems. 

  • Provide recommendations for PLC programs improvements relative to a new or existing projects and solutions.

  • Execute company standard practice in documentation and source code revision. 

  • Design AOI’s using ladder or function block diagrams or structured text. 

  • Provide customer support and call-outs. 

  • Assist with installs, management, and contractor coordination. 

  • Provide incident management for a customer’s manufacturing plant by working on everything between business software, OT networking, PLC’s, machine controls, SCADA to sensors and devices to resolve automation issues, including communicating and interfacing with customers when resolving incidents or deploying programming changes. 

  • Provide new developments and programming or modifications of HMI and SCADA systems to interfere with control systems. 

  • Provide programmed solutions for graphical user Interfaces and SCADA systems of the following types: Ignition, Iconics, Wonderware, and Factory Talk machine edition and Redlion HMI series. 

  • Provide hardware configurations for field IO devices, pressure, level, flow and temperature sensors, and communications protocol converters. 

  • Utilize AC/DC control systems, VMware, SVN Tortoise, RSlogix 5/500/5000, RSstudio ME/SE, Unity, Linux, Windows, Turck, Wago, Modicon M340/580.  Read and produce electrical AutoCad schematics.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent.

  • Three years of experience in job offered or three years related experience in reading and producing electrical AutoCad schematics; PLC; HMI; SCADA programming in AC/DC control systems; VMware; SVN Tortoise; Ignition; RSlogix 5/500/5000; RSstudio ME/SE; Redlion; Unity; Linux; Windows; Wonderware; Factory Talk; Allen Bradley 1756, 1768, 1769, 1734 platforms; Turck; Wago; and, Modicon M340/580.
